@plexicosplay: #ad Verminia’s headpiece is iconic -- she’s decorated with two rats and conical tail piles, and the swoop of her hair mixed with the microbangs is giving 1980’s femme heartthrob. It might seem like the more obvious choice is to simply hairspray a wig into shape, but the amount of wig fibers needing to stay just in the right place made a helmet-style wig the better option. I used tape and wire framing to create the swoop structure and affixed wefts made from her cut base wig into a new design. The rats are printed in super squishy lightweight PLA and flocked for realism. Their eyes are beads for that glossy shine, and the tails and cones are made of EVA foam dowels except for the dangling ends, which are silicone for a little extra bounce and realism. I just have to add the headpiece under-chin ties, and she’ll be good to go! The headpiece is actually really lightweight, but I can already tell that Verminia’s large protruding ears are going to be a challenge to endure during the convention 😅 In this video, you saw a small shot of my rat army.
