I get what you’re saying but this is my fic, not a business ploy. I’m not interested in an engagement business model of being super strategic and I believe this will only kill the hobby. I think good writing will always make things feel earned and strong knowledge of the canon story/characters will always be translated. I say just write the story you want, make sure you enjoy reading it, and then post to see how people respond. It’s fan fiction, not being an influencer.

my slowburn is the chars not seeing their actions with each other AS LOVE AND AFFECTION but i they also dont elaborate on said actions with their internal dialogue, so my readers go nuts because the characters move on from something that was way too intimate to be chill 😂

wrote 150k words and they JUST had their first kiss. In chapter 37/39. one of them pushed the other away like 5 chapters ago solely because he was drunk despite them both being obsessed with each other 😈 bring back the harlequin teen romance vibe
