@nowthisimpact: After a multimillion‑dollar makeover and a whole lot of nanobubbler hype, the Reflecting Pool was treated with gallons of hydrogen peroxide. It’s still not working.
You might not believe this but that algae bloom is longer than some of the tallest buildings in the world are tall.

This project is such a metaphor for everything his administration has undertaken. Pointless objectives that create enormous unnecessary costs and end up as complete failures.

It’s not designed as a pool there’s no circulation. No filter system. You can’t treat this like a pool because it’s a pond.

Everyone remember, as you were struggling to put food on your table, our governments priority was a bad paint job that destroyed the meaning of a historical landmark and led to insanely expensive and unnecessary ongoing maintenance.

Even if they cleaned it, the algae will just come back over and over because the dark paint makes the water warmer which makes it a great place for algae to form.

Did literally anyone tell him that dark paint would make the pool warmer, which algae loves?

We have algae, a lot of algae. Some of the best algae in the world. People say they love our algae, because it's wonderful, it's green, really green. I mean it's the greenest green you've ever seen. And it's ours. It's wonderful.

As a person who works with water chemistry, I will say it is really neat to see how far it went before it was too dilute to make a difference.
