Damn. Par for the course I was lied to. I was told 60 was low and made to believe I had to join fast. Wanted to do Medical Logistics in the Army, ended up doing Signal/Communications.

older vet, I had a 125 asvab,never studied . started as a mechanic, but later was able to qualify for special forces. I would point out that there is a flaw in your scoring, if the job you want is not available at the time you test/go to meps, you can wait for the job you want to be available. yes recruiter will try to force you into picking but you don't have to

I didn't study for the ASVAB. I walked into the Navy recruitment office. they gave me the practice test. I got a 96. when I took the test at MEPS I got a 98. I was a nuke.

I scored high enough for pretty much any job in the Navy. They initially thought about geartherin, but ultimately put me in house nerdoclaw. Definitely the right choice for me.

I guess I was nerdoclaw, but there are 4 types of navy nukes. Ask each one what pi is and you'll get 4 different answers. Ask a mechanic and they'll ask if it's apple or cherry and what's for dinner. Ask an electrician and it's 3.14. An ET will tell you 5 digits being what anyone cares, and the ELT will ask you what you need it to be.
