Mr. Titus Aisa, 20, from Mekeo, and Mr. Abel Ate, 23, from Gulf Province, were employed by Fix Security and working at Rainbow Cash & Carry. On 16 June 2026, the two men were accused of stealing a roll of Maggie stock cubes from the shop. Following the allegation, they were detained and it is alleged that a Fix Security response team was called to attend the scene. Between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., both men were allegedly assaulted by members of the response team using iron bars and other objects. During the assault, both men suffered serious injuries. Mr. Titus Aisa was reportedly beaten unconscious and left motionless. After the incident, both men were taken to Badili Police Station, where they remained until about 5:00 p.m. It was only when the incoming shift officer noticed the seriousness of their injuries that St John Ambulance was called. Both men were then taken to Port Moresby General Hospital for treatment. Mr. Aisa is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is fighting for his life. Doctors have confirmed that he is suffering from internal bleeding in the brain caused by the injuries he sustained. His condition remains critical and doctors are unsure if he will recover. A formal complaint will be lodged with the Officer-in-Charge of Minor Crimes at Badili Police Station, and a message card will be submitted requesting a full police investigation. The incident raises serious concerns about the alleged abuse and assault of persons suspected of an offence. Security personnel have no authority to punish suspects and must hand them over to police for lawful investigation. Depending on the outcome of police investigations and Mr. Aisa's medical condition, offences such as Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), Attempted Murder, or Murder may be considered....#creatorsearchinsights
