algae are caused by microscopic spores that enter the water via wind, rain, or debris. They bloom rapidly when the pool lacks proper sanitization, water is poorly circulated, the pH is too high

Painting the reflecting pool a light color (as in the past) actively helps prevent algae growth by reflecting sunlight rather than absorbing it, which keeps the water cooler. Cooler water is less hospitable to algae than warm, heat-absorbing dark surfaces. Hydrogen Peroxide caused the paint to peel. This happened due to his administration's standard requirement prohibiting the use of science, research or critical thinking and because Trump rushed to give the project to his neighbor.
