the most obvious answer is combine n lincs ne lincs and the lindsey’s and then combine lincoln, kestevens and holland/boston but they won’t do that bc it’s not politically helpful

Option 2 seems to be the only one that actually fits the criteria set out by the Government. Most are either too small or just massive… because of political reasons mostly.

Motorways aren’t funded by County Councils. National Highways are responsible for them (and major A roads) under the DfT

Kinda wish that my district put in its interest of an option, but they decided not to. In general though would’ve been nice to a return of the three parts (before 1974) which were Lindsey,Kesteven and Holland. But because this ain’t an option I’d say option 1 which is the singular option the better one. Only cause this wouldn’t have much effect on the core services as much etc. In general though I think all of the options have there good points and bad points to them. I guess though we’ll just have to wait and see what happens I guess.

The minister knows that the strategic thinking of local government senior managers/politicians is limited to self interest. However it is not politically acceptable for the minister to be seen to be deciding how these public sector authorities will be reorganised. But in many cases the self interested politicians and senior managers have made it easier for the minister to give the task of proposing the reorganisation to consultants 🙄

the bizarre thing is west Lindley, lincoln and north kesteven already share services and have a combined local plan, that is based on shared economic areas. likewise, east Lindley, Boston and south Holland work together already. however, politics and personal interest has prevailed. should stick with those areas and SK goes in with central lincs. why would someone who sees lincoln as their home city, but is just outside want yo be administered from spalding?

We could just abolish Lincolnshire entirely. Scunthorpe is a ghost, Grimsby is ASBO central and the rest is full of dykes and potato fields. Far better to give Lincoln to Notts, North and East to Yorkshire and leave the rest to farmers and people on the run from Albanian Police.
