Chronic dry eye can really be super debilitating, even if it’s just “dry eye”, sounds like you still have options to try, but lasik will not help this condition at all.

Tyrvaya has made the most difference for me for my dry eyes, I like it because it’s not an eye drop it’s a nasal spray and helps to produce more tears, maybe ask about it and see if it’s a fit for you!

This disease can be so much more complicated than you want it to be but there is a lot of treatment to try!! Definitely get a full dry eye workup done and ideally see someone who specializes in dry eye (some are better than others!!)

im going through something similar since jan of 2025 and I still dont know the exact cause of my eye pain and inflammation but at the moment im sure its dry eyes and nothings working. my headaches lasted an entire year too but naturally went away.

I was just diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa a genetic disease that causes peripheral vision loss, also have macular edema and glaucoma. This past spring my eyes started with the bloodshot and pain. Now they just tear and burn and feel chapped and I can completely relate to your pain and experience. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It fucking sucks! I’ve been seeing 2 retinal specialist for 5 years a glaucoma specialist and Friday I see a dry eye specialist. God help us!
