Medicaid worker here!! It’s so frustrating I get it! It’s definitely annoying for us to have to ask this stuff but really all you have to do is submit an Authorized representative form and you can speak on her behalf. I wish they would have told you guys that! Hope you weee able to get her insurance:)

as a healthcare worker, I completely empathize with you. But PLEASE make sure the first thing you do at any new facility is to sign whatever you need to, in order to be an authorized representative.

Medicare worker here, this is why it’s so important to get guardianship, authorized rep forms, or power of attorney forms. We don’t enjoy this either as workers but it’s part of the job and HIPPA requirements

I had to speak as my mom after she passed away to my insurance because they refused to talk to my dad and accept the fact that my mom died 🥲 I’m so sorry for my girl 🥺❤️

As someone that works with insurance I empathize but we could lose our jobs over a HIPAA violation. Unfortunately insurance companies don’t care what the barrier is… just please fill out all the hipaa authorization paperwork ahead of time to avoid this frustration. Much love.
