You should try zorin. My fav flavor. Has built in wine repositories and popsicle so you can run windows exes if you need to after opening the exe file. Easier experience compared to mint for wine isntall after sudo apt update for me anyway. Still Ubuntu based like mint. Even had a lite version that uses xfce for low hardware desktops if gnome is too heavy

Mint is good on laptops, but i wouldn't recommend it on desktops, as the Cinnamon UI is largely optimized for laptops and small screens

I think Ubuntu is particularly good on laptops, things just work out of the box, mint is not a bad option though either, you just might need to update it a little more first
