@v.i.c.k.y.s: Chronic pain gives pain and takes so much more. It’s a life’s sentence that you have to push through everyday! It’s a bit of a long video but I bet there’s so many that feel this too. Send to someone who could benefit from this and understands #chronicpain #chronicillness #pain #disabilityawareness #disability
My ADHD wants to be fun and spontaneous, my ME/CFS and fibromyalgia make it damn near impossible. And it's super frustrating!
I've lost lots of friends over the years because they've felt like I wasn't valuing the friendship properly.
Also having to ration your time and energy to do even the most basic daily tasks. Knowing that things need doing but if you do X you cant do Y... Everything requires rest and when sleep isn't even restful you never know what you're gonna be capable of each day. So making future plans is difficult and canceling them when the inevitable flare comes, brings guilt and shame, which then makes you feel worse. And so few people understand what it's like to always be at the mercy of your own body. It's like you lose your autonomy in a way...

I tried to explain this yesterday, as I feel it's the silent side that noone is aware of, but it's the hardest part to live with. Take care sweetie, we'll get through this 🥰

I have to limit myself to no more than one social plan a week and even that's too much sometimes. It's a different type of grief

My biggest hate at the moment is when people think that youve had a miraculous recovery, just because you've had a better day than the last time they saw you. Or they see you have one 'good' day, so expect every day to be the same! xxx

Thank you so much for this. You explained what I’ve struggled to explain for a few years now. It’s not just my pain, it’s my chronic illness that I now have which I didn’t before that really makes me feel like this. Especially the anxiety and embarrassment I have if I try to use aids in public, I feel so judged for the wrong reasons. Thanks again lovely xx have a beautiful day xx 😘

I stopped knowing who I was and what my role was in the family when I had to leave work due to my pain. I’ve been out of work 2.5 years now and it’s been a tough journey figuring it out. I’m hoping I can return to work one day but for now I’m waiting by the phone to get a call for surgery. Will be my 4th and the waiting list is about 65 weeks so who knows what’s going to happen. I’m trying to just be present each day xxx
