@nasdekelectrical: I also uses cables for thunder Arrestor system…😎👌🏽✅#youngelectricians #electricians #thunderarrestor #electricalengineering #nasdekelectrical
First of all, lightning arrester has nothing to do with the current load of a building.

SONNEN ENGINEERING LTD. 🇳🇬 :
I believe we have technical standards for different electrical terminations e.g in the case of a thunder arrestor. Your 16mm² cable has max. voltage handling capability of 750V meanwhile lightning Surges can hit thousands of volts hence the need for the use of bare copper tape conductor to safely shunt it to the earth mass. Please if this is your own practice, apply it only for yourself and not for general public consumption.

10mm cable is also good for it as well

instálling arrestor is before plastring of after plastring

Sub-Tech Electricals services :
Using a 16 mm² (16 mm²) cable is generally not advisable for the primary down-conductor of an external lightning protection system. For the safest and most compliant installations, professional standards require larger copper cables (usually ≥ 35 mm²) to handle the massive, sudden surges of a lightning

But the people that introduce copper tape for it are not stopped

there's nothing like the zise of load of the building, lighting doesn't come according to your load or size of building, what you did there is just waste of money cause if lighting hit that arrestor you will understand how useless that 16mm is .

Just asking.
will thunder reduce its intensity if it strikes a small building? if not I believe same/similar standard should be maintained for all

what role does the load play with the sizing of thunder arrestor since the arrestor system is a separate circuit not linked to load

ELECTRICIAN CAMEROON :
using 16mm is even too small if u know what thunder is ?
I think u should triple the size of that copper size regardless of the size of building or load of building because load has nothing to do ,what we should be concerned with is the load of the thunder to be discharged to the ground and hence our concerns should be with making sure the wire can be large enough to facilitate drainage of that's discharge to he ground as fast as possible
