1. Wealth was never the goal of their lives. The men God blessed in the Bible did not spend their lives chasing money. Their focus was faithfulness, obedience, and walking with God. Wealth became a result of God’s blessing, not their life mission. Abraham, Job, and Solomon were greatly blessed, but their relationship with God always came before possessions. They understood that true prosperity comes from God’s hand, not human effort alone. “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” — Deuteronomy 8:18 2. Complete trust in God. One thing all these men had in common was absolute trust in God. Even in difficult seasons, they continued to rely on Him instead of their own understanding. Job lost everything yet still trusted God. David faced battles, betrayal, and fear, but he constantly put his confidence in the Lord. Their security was not in money — it was in God’s faithfulness. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” — Psalm 20:7 3. Generosity always came before blessing. Before great blessing, there was always a generous and loving heart willing to give first. God trusted them with abundance because they did not worship it. They understood that blessing was meant to flow through them, not stop with them. A selfish heart cannot carry God’s purpose, but a generous heart reflects God’s character. “One person gives freely, yet gains even more.” — Proverbs 11:24 “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35 4. Love for God’s Word. The people God blessed deeply valued His Word. David said he meditated on God’s law day and night. Abraham did not even have the Bible as we do today, yet he treasured every word God spoke and obeyed it completely. Their minds were shaped by God’s truth, not by the world’s thinking. They loved hearing God’s voice more than gaining earthly success. “Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” — Psalm 1:1-2 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105 5. Money did not change who they were. For most people, great wealth reveals the worst parts of their character. But the men God blessed understood that everything belonged to God. Wealth did not become their identity or their source of pride. They remained dependent on God, humble before Him, and aware that He alone has power to raise up or bring down. Money did not control them because God remained on the throne of their hearts. “The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.” — 1 Samuel 2:7 “Command those who are rich… not to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God.” — 1 Timothy 6:17
