Here's the thing - the biggest reason soccer hasn't become crazy popular in the US is because, with no commercial breaks, it can't be effectively monetized. The people who TELL the public what to enjoy - like Bud Light - need ad revenue. In the US, those breaks are going to secure new markets and bigger TV deals. Is that fair? No. Does it suck? Yes. That's the nature of late stage capitalism, though. Those awful breaks are going to easily double the US audience within 4 years, when MLS adopts them permanently.
