A lot of studios shutting down do nothing. Even if they made a couple great games when you don’t make a game in 6+ years and having to pay people in that studio. Then you’re just paying people to pretend to make games.

Phil Spencer wanted content for gamepass, he believed in not every gaming needing to sell 1,000,000 copies to be good, his issue was being too hands off. Asha sharma has done nothing but purge Xbox and people are praising her like she’s done something amazing

That’s really the only reason I’m not mad about Xbox laying off multiple studios just because of the sheer amount of studios they actually own because of Spencer (I’m honestly shocked it was only 4)

Keep in mind, people say "closed" but some of these are going to be going independent, or sold to a new publisher. There are closings but thats not exactly the full case.

I don’t particularly believe the Arkane one because they have a major ip that they are working on and only one source has sad that. The other three are believable. You can’t make a bunch of games that don’t even perform on gamepass then get surprised when this happens.
