Oh, so that’s why my Humira burns when I inject it

That baby was definitely trying to comfort him. She was trying to pat him the way a parent would pat a young child who is in distress. She just doesn't have the motor control to do it softly yet

i’m a pharmacist on Dupixent and i have a whole new appreciation for how i counsel on injections bc holy shit. 2 mL subq is no joke. def let it come to room temp and pinch. i’ve found the belly injections hurt me less. followed by the back of my arm. my thigh is always the most painful

THEY SHOULD WARN YOU WHEN THEY PRESCRIBE IT… I thought I was doing something wrong until I saw a TikTok video. I give myself other injections no problem, but Dupixent is agony. Shame it absolutely fixes my asthma.

I'm on Dupixent on a weekly basis. I grab a LARGE portion of my stomach and squeeze the hell out of it to try to make it not feel like it's all in 1 area.

I have a very skinny 8 year old (I feed him plenty…just his body type), and we give him dupixent for extreme eczema. I requested pre-filled syringes because I did lots of research and read it’s less painful than than the auto-injector. He’s a trooper, even though I know it’s still painful. Have you heard input on pre-filled syringe vs auto injector?

Emgality hurts SO BAD, I hate it so much. I was on it for a while and I dreaded every injection. I give myself consistent other injections (multiple a month) and get all recommended vaccines, nothing has ever hurt as bad as Emgality.

Rotate your injection sites as well. If you use the same site over and over you build up scar tissue that does not absorb medication very well.

I’m on dupixent for chronic hives. For me it’s that the pen doesn’t have a button to press to release the medication so you have to apply pressure to site. Especially when I first started using it I was pressing too hard. It’s still the most painful injectable med I’ve been on.

As a T1 diabetic seeing the location of the injection sent shivers up my spine. There is nowhere near enough fat there! Thighs (upper), love handles, belly tissue around the bellybutton (if you’re not ripped). Always squeeze up the area of the injections site or you’re going to hit something that is going to feel so much worse!

When I do my weekly shots, I feel around on my stomach to find the parts that are less sensitive. It works like a charm.

As someone who’s used dupixent since it had just come out of clinical trials (my doc was part of them), the regular injectors are way less painful than the auto injectors. The stomach will also hurt less than the thigh. Hope this helps someone!

Auto-injections suck! The spring loaded needle is too intense. I would rather draw up my medication and give it to myself.

Don't inject it near a joint because it is not as muscular there and will hurt worse. Go for the meatier part of your thighs and stomach and keep track of where you are injecting yourself

I tried putting my Ozempic in my thigh and the worst spot ever. I got told to try the inside of my thigh instead of the outside.

Pharmacist here - as someone who used to dispense Dupixent, I’ve had many patients tell me the syringe formulation is a lot less painful. For most other injectables, it’s usually the opposite! It’s a shame Dupixent is so painful 😣

idk why everyone is injecting it into their muscle not the fat. the fat is on the side of the upper thigh

I refuse to use ANY auto inject medicine. I used abrilada (Humira) ONE time. Called my Dr the next day to tell him to switch that right on to the pre-filled syringes. Only time it hurts is if I push too fast. Otherwise I feel NOTHING.
