@cathrinmanningg: Replying to @a m a n d a 💕 I keep reminding myself that everything is temporary and hopefully the baby stage isn’t as much of a struggle the second time around. Also just knowing where I’m at now and my relationship with Cutie, I know it will be worth it!

Your second kid sort of heals something in you. Specially if tour first was so hard, this time around you know what to expect. However, that’s said if you can have some help at least the first 2 months and your last weeks of pregnancy, your will be solid :) I can say that as an imigrant that’s doesn’t have any family around and no friends closed I had one of my parents fly here and stay with us that time and after that yeah is chaotic buuut your get the flow. You got this! 🩷

For me first 1,5 year was amazing . I loved that stage . Now when he is 2 I’m struggling. His personality is hard and toddler stage is hard for me. So I am not sure if I want to have second kid now or anytime soon

Hopefully you have the same experience the second time around as me. My 1st didn’t sleep through the night until he was almost 2. Had colic and cried a lot. My second, she started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old. Such a chill baby. Manifesting that for you!

@Lindsay Rebola: I’m extremely late to this post but it just showed up on my page and I resonate with this so much. I’m thinking a lot about having a second kid. It took us 10 years to have my son, thankfully through IVF. I feel obligated because I spent 26k on treatment but I also feel like I don’t have the support I expected from family and friends (which I don’t have many of, same my fault?) we also still don’t have our own house yet, which we have been saving for. I’m limited by my age (35) I just feel like I’m being tugged side to side and I don’t want to regret my decision.

We dont have much of a supportive system close either beyond a couple friends so I get the struggle with lack of support. Its hard! I will say, my boys are 19 months apart and postpartum is going much better this time around (once I healed a bit after birth...those first 2 weeks were rough though).

In my experience the 2nd baby learns to self soothe and put themselves back to sleep so much better than the first. There are times when you have to meet the needs of the toddler too and as long as baby is fed, changed, and safe you can let baby fuss or cry for a few minutes. I remember being amazed that my 2nd would fall back asleep or sooth himself to sleep while I was caring for big sis, and I didn’t feel guilty for those few moments of fussing because it was necessary.

I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow with my 2nd and I’m DREADING the first 6 months. I’m attempting to not let this one sleep with me because transitioning to his own space was miserable as a toddler. But also all of our support has moved away so we’ll see how well he’s sleeps.

My second was a worse sleeper but I had the knowledge and the patience from the first time around that it was as bad! In the moments it was hard but that second time you just feel so much more prepared. Totally different experience the more you have!

the baby phase was not my fav. 6 months was a little lighter, 12 months a bit easier, 15 months, 18 months, and now my son is 2 1/2 and i'm loving it.

The confidence alone you will feel as a second time mom- even just with the safe cosleepjng you talk about- will make this time around so much easier.

I loved having a baby and 1-2 year old stage. 3-4 has been so overwhelming and hard for me with having a picky eater, having endless energy, always wanting my attention 24/7 always touching me, balancing activities and screen time. I always worrying I'm screwing her up and I love her so much but everytime I considered having another my daughter would do something off the wall. and I was like I can't have another.

My son is 16 months. And I’m struggling health wise (physically and mentally) with hashimotos, PPA, PPD, PTSD, histamine issues, no village. So I say I am one and done. But I see my son and I don’t want him to go through life alone, and I think about the future when he no longer has his parents, I wish I could give him a sibling. But I am still falling apart. I feel stuck. He was a good newborn, he’s a good baby. I think I was blessed with a good baby because I am the one who is gonna struggle after childbirth. I was induced, he had a NICU stay, but all in all he’s great. I’m the one who isn’t. But I do want another one. But my fear is not being here to enjoy it with them because my body won’t make it through it. Thank you for sharing and being transparent.
