As a shift lead who has to drop these when we get down to 2 and then wait like 20 minutes for them to come up/be ready, and then for them to only be good for an hour afterwards - these things are a nightmare and we waste far too many in a day.

As someone who worked at McDonald back in the day- we pulled them straight from the fryer, turned the holder upside down letting them all fall to the tray. Then right into to box to the heated holder. The cherry was better,
