@theartcoach: Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. This figure 8 loop exercise looks simple, but it’s one of the best drills for building hand-eye coordination and line control. The challenge is maintaining a smooth, continuous rhythm as the loops repeat over and over. Can you keep the curves even? Can you keep the spacing consistent? Can you transition from one loop into the next without hesitation? Exercises like this teach your hand to move confidently through curved motions instead of relying on short, scratchy marks. A lot of drawing comes down to motor skills. The hand needs repetitions just like a musician practices scales or an athlete practices fundamentals. The figure 8 drill gives your hand hundreds of controlled curved movements in just a few minutes. Simple exercise. Huge payoff. The more control you build here, the more natural your lines begin to feel everywhere else in your drawings.
