“Hope is a discipline” is so true. Most people fall into cynicism when faced with such atrocities we see today and people need faith, courage, compassion and a sense of justice to stand against oppression. You don’t have to be apart of a religion, but believe in something better and bigger than yourself. Even when you know you might not see the end results of it. Every thread of hope and progress will be weaved into something beautiful for the next generation

I think people need to learn to find hope and balance that with reality. This world is fucked, there’s a lot of good but that’s not going to be more important to me than the people suffering. I think that sometimes the idea of faith in a better world specifically through a god takes the onus off us humans to make this world better. Yes we need optimism but we can’t expect someone else to do it.

This is why black liberation theory is so impactful. It has informed change for society in the US and beyond. See Malcom X and Islam, MLK and Christianity, and even African religions in the Caribbean and their slave revolts.

But God does just exist and literally the French revolution tried to replace catholicism with an atheist religion, which doesn’t work, not only is everybody only focussen on the symbol and not the meaning but also it’s a false satanic religion, just accept that the world we live in has a catholic (ie universal, so for me AND you the same) God and deal with it.
