Hello my friend. I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. New ATF fluid is generally considered low risk for occasional skin contact, but that does not mean it's harmless. Safety Data Sheets from major manufacturers still recommend avoiding prolonged skin exposure and using protective gloves. The bigger issue is that you're rebuilding used transmissions, not handling fresh ATF straight from the bottle. Used transmission fluid can contain metal particles, clutch material, wear debris, oxidation products, and other contaminants accumulated over thousands of miles. That's why professional safety guidelines generally recommend gloves when working with used oils and transmission components on a regular basis. So saying there are "no harmful substances in a transmission" and that handling ATF without gloves is "completely safe" isn't really accurate. The risk may be low, but it's definitely not zero. They definitely still make asbestos, it is in a lot of clutch material and brake pad materials, they just stopped using it as insulation and residential applications. I rebuild transmissions too mane, I just do heavy duty diesel manuals
