It was 3AM when I caught #19 # now residing at the sanctuary! ✨🙌🏾This puppy was very hard to catch and it took me weeks. I was able to catch it because she could barely open her eyes! This puppy is covered in mange, fleas, puss and smells very badly. In order to rescue this puppy, I had to rescue the leader of the pack or I was going to get attacked. I rescued him yesterday! 😭 It took nine months to gain his trust and he’s like completely different dog now! One by one I’ve been rescuing, praying over the pack daily and asking neighbors to look out for them on long days. Although I have rescued over 70 dogs this year, 15 of them are from this neighborhood and reside asanctuary. It is my goal to get the strays off this corner before it gets cold. The only thing that is stopping me is the funding for each rescue and the ongoing reality of the safety and cleaning required daily for 20+ dogs. It is my hope that as the weather cools down that we will attract more volunteers, fundraisers, and build another building for the animals on site because we are starting to run out of space and having this many dogs roaming at the sanctuary is not safe for volunteers.
