Yeah I’m at the mill and unless your constantly working 60hrs a week you’ll just barely clear 79k and most houses that you would actually want to live in your paying $3200 a month for a mortgage. We have 3kids and need to have 4 bedrooms at a minimum. We rent a 4bd 2bath house and pay $2100 a month. It’s just the better route if you have kids. We want to buy and have looked and until we get a kid out of the house we just can’t swing it

Lewiston has a severe air pollution due to Clearwater paper mill. The smell is locked into the valley for weeks to months. Since it sits at sea level the heat is unbearable in the summer.

Lewiston is terribly expensive, and almost impossible for most young people to get started. And yes, the property taxes are a problem! 5k per year for a regular home in a regular area. Terrible place!

Lewistons property taxes are what make it an unaffordable town. Otherwise our prices are pretty in track for the state. Condos are extremely difficult to sell here.

Another problem in Lewiston is the debt to income ratio, lots and lots of toys are bought in the valley on credit. Not saying it’s wrong or right, just facts.

Thank you. It is also the highest property taxes in the state. That house is not only by the airport but a busier road. idk how they figure that 70k range is median income. Idaho minimum wage is $7.25/hr. COW buying site unseen has raised our housing market and taxes unbelievably.

I live here in Idaho... and every time you do one of our towns its a slap in the face to the reality that people are continuing to vote republican cuz of moral reasons, yet still wiling to complain about the results of of that vote... our government can fix this issue but voting Republican here is way more important then fixing the problem..

I live here and it’s absolutely terrible. 90% of the company’s pay terribly. Unless you have been at a company for years you’re only getting around 20-25 an hour.
