@andrewksheaff: We’re not doing a disservice if we do everything we can to make it easier for swimmers to learn skills and to help them do it in less time. While there is a (terrific) ethos of hard work in the sport, using faster and easier strategies is just more effective and efficient. It keeps swimmers engaged rather than pushing them away, and even from a purely performance perspective, better tools just mean it’s possible to make more progress. Faster and easier is almost always the way to go. There’s going to be plenty of slow and hard no matter what, so whenever there’s a better option, it makes sense to take it.
