When my dad was on a ventilator, we asked him if he could hear us, and he raised his pinky. We all watch SpongeBob growing up and always referenced “when and doubt pinky out.” I ended up writing an essay about it in college and it got published in our library.

That’s good to know they can still hear you because the only way i could say goodbye to my dad is with him in the icu room during covid so we couldn’t go in the room with him and the nurse had to hold the phone and we had to say goodbye over FaceTime… 😖💔

We played Red Hot Chili Peppers to see how my dad would react when my dad was on the vent and he shook his head to turn it off lol. He hated them so much 😂

I have a friend that was in a ventilator and the nurse would leave the TV on as company in the boring commercial channel.. it was like that for months. they said when they woke up and told them to never play that again. until this day they still can't stand a commercial it's been years since that happened but they still get ptsd from that😭
