If you’re able to, try and follow up in person rather than phone/email. Ask for the hiring manager or else they might just give you a shift supervisor and waste your time. If the hiring manager isn’t there, ask when they’ll be back and then return at that time. Bring them a paper copy of your resume and explicitly ask to put an interview on the schedule. The job market is a nightmare right now and this isn’t a 100% foolproof method, but it definitely can help move things along a little better (Credentials: I work at a nonprofit as a job coach/employment specialist)
