@castielvscancer: Update on Castiel 💛 In August, Castiel will start testing at MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering) in New York for the neuroblastoma vaccine trial. We don’t have the exact date for the first consultation yet, but we believe it’ll be in the first or second week of August. On that same day as the first consultation, he’ll already start testing, including the bone marrow biopsy. Boston Children’s collects from 2 sites, but MSK’s protocol requires collection from 4 — so this exam will be a bit more extensive than what he’s used to. The hospital provides the vaccine and study medication for free, but everything around consultations and exams — starting with this biopsy — isn’t covered. Follow-up care isn’t covered either, since that’s not part of what the trial covers. That also includes bills we still have from his previous treatment. Every appointment and every test comes with a cost we have to cover ourselves. If you’re able to help with a donation, any amount makes a difference.
