Hear me out..I genuinely think Melanie thrived on the victim narrative. Whether she realized it or not, she seemed comfortable being seen as the heartbroken, betrayed girl because it made people sympathize with her. Deep down, she knew that no matter what Sincere did, he’d still choose her. He was her safe option. If you really watch her actions, though, it’s obvious she liked Corbin more. During the kissing challenge, her energy with him was different, and she chose him first for a private chat. Those weren’t random decisions. The reason she never fully pursued Corbin wasn’t because she didn’t want him—it was because she knew he was more likely to choose Kenzie. Instead of risking rejection, she went back to Sincere because she already knew he’d choose her. When she got coupled with Corbin, everything started with drama. Yes, she was hurt, but I also think part of it was intentional. It felt like she wanted Corbin to chase her and prove himself. Instead, Corbin did the healthy thing and gave her space. I don’t think that’s what she wanted— she seemed to want a more toxic reaction, where he’d fight for her, chase her, and get pulled into the drama. Corbin refused to play that game. The same thing happened with the letters. She knew Corbin would probably write to Kenzie, so she wrote to Sincere instead. It wasn’t about following her heart—it was about protecting herself. At the end of the day, I think Melanie’s biggest insecurity was Corbin because she wasn’t sure he’d choose her. With Sincere, she never had that fear. He was her safe place because she always knew he’d pick her. That’s why, despite all the lying, betrayal, and the way he treated her, she still chose Sincere in the end.
