CT here- at my facility we never ask the nurse for a new IV unless it’s a 22 and we have a CTA, or it doesn’t flush. As long as that 20 in the wrist flushes good, I’ll make it work😂

honestly could be worse, i had a new resident in the ER ask for labs on a hard stick, right after the initial report comes back she asks for troponin, then after sending that up blood cultures, an hour later CK. At the end of the shift a PCT. But she didn’t find a clost dif quick test necessary, I did one anyway after changing her diaper the 4th time (it was positive). And everything was STAT while I had 4 other patients (one with a stroke protocol, a new patient with dyspnoe and chest pain) 🥰🥰🥰🥰
