When daycare calls to pickup my sick kid it’s either I’ll be there in 20 minutes or it is let me call my spouse or a grandparent to see if they can pick-up. If I’m not going immediately I call daycare back to update them on who’s picking up and the expected time. I couldn’t imagine just letting my sick kid sit there all day

This! My son’s nurse sent me a pic of him sleeping in class. I literally went to pick him up 10 minutes later. I knew he wasn’t feeling well. He was going home to sleep in his comfortable bed. 💙

My school nurse called my emergency contact to pick me up. Then she told me that my emergency contact couldn’t pick me up unless they got permission for my primary contact. Maybe I’m just stupid but doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of an emergency contact? 🤦♀️

I am a sahm and live 2 blocks away from the school . I work afternoons so I can be available for when my kids are sick, snow days , school cancelations ect. nothing like the comfort of your own home when you are sick . I wipp be there in 2 minutes

My daughter had pink eye and I was called to pick her up. I felt bad saying it’d be a half hour since my husband and I both work a few towns over 😭

I used to work in the office of an elementary school - it broke my heart to have sick kids waiting all day long to be picked up. They would ask when their Mom is coming and I would have to tell them idk Mom isn’t answering her phone 💔
