Why would they take YOUR dog to the pound without even telling you. Thats just so disgusting imo. They offered to take care of him so it wouldn't be a "oh he was too much to deal with", you signed up for that responsibility when you offered to take care of him.

I'm sure if you could have done this sooner, you would have. You could have called the pound, explained the situation to them and asked them to temporarily shelter your dog as he was surrendered without your consent. You could have set up a gofundme or something and explained to the pound that you are working on getting the funds, that you also work. That you are looking for stable housing. I am sonsorry to you that this happened. Because this has caused your dog to be put down, you should try and sue for emotional damage. Maybe try to find a cheep lawyer or public defender. something needs to be done. What those people did to you and your dog isn't right and they need to deal with the consequences.
