@bluecollarfiremen: It’s easy to leave a negative comment on a video. The harder question is: are we actually learning from what’s being shared? None of us will ever see every fire, every mistake, or every unique situation firsthand. One of the biggest benefits of social media is the ability to learn from the experiences of others. The key is to learn, not bash each other. Sometimes I read the comments and honestly wonder what the goal was. Did that comment help the person who posted the video become better? Did it provide any value to anyone reading it? Most of the time, the answer is no. @aaron.heywood does a great job of sharing his mistakes, and the lessons learned from them. We need more of that in the fire service. As Aaron put it: “Truck 8 was dispatched to an alarm of fire. Upon arrival we were met with a 1 story wood frame residential with fire in the Charlie and heavy smoke through out the structure. I was assigned to outside duties along with my driver. As I watch the film I realize 2 things. 1- It is unbelievably easy to get caught up in the energy of the fireground and skip easy but crucial steps when things get going. Adrenaline flows and your mind is on what needs to be done and tries to cut corner to save time. 2. It is imperative to take the 20 extra seconds before heading up to throw my mask and gloves on, if done properly and promptly before heading up I would not have had to do so when it was chugging already. I write this because I understand the responsibility of posting shit on the internet and people will watch this and should learn from the mistakes we make so they can be better when they encounter similar scenarios.“ #BlueCollarFiremen
I just don’t understand any of this. Not critisising i just simply do not understand why

Nice work fellas! K12 is great for that cut. Only thing I saw was the no gloves and masking up after the fact. Otherwise, good job! Cut, do the work and get down.
