Time and time again, AOs have said that they appreciate the prompts. They want to know that students can answer a question.

do admissions officers look at applications with the assumption that some things will be over exaggerated or a lie? i feel like so many things would be easy to fabricate so i’m a bit confused on how much they take applicants at their word

Hey Brandon, writing my essay on how the color silver has shaped me, i always thought about silver in a negative manner due to my father passing and seeing that color during the funeral, later then associating it with 2nd place and not at my best, all this deeper defining based on one experience but an experience happened to me which helped me see a sense of happiness in silver at a brief moment so i find out a meaning that is tied to one experience isn’t fixed it can change as new endeavors come about, any thoughts?? hopin to get into UF this fall🙏

Hey Brandon, if I have done a project with a title for three years as my NHS project where I would write letters of kind words or encouragements and give them to hospitalized children or senior citizens in nursing homes. Would I just add that under NHS or make it its own section in the activities list since I have been doing it every year by myself

Hey Brandon, I really like your videos! I was looking for some feedback on my essay. Ok so this isn’t a traditional essay but what do you think about letting the admissions officers “into my mind” by letting them into different rooms revealing memories of mine that are tried to songs and showing life moments that shaped me and how I developed as a person and the intro is “Welcome to my mind. Most people organize memories by dates yet mine are filed under their songs. Every song unlocks another room. Come on in.” Because key moments in my life are remembered with a song that shaped me or helped me overcome a challenge. if you need more info lmk, thanks!

Agreed!!! And when it comes to those supplemental essays being direct and specific about why that school / program is a great fit is also what admissions officers are looking for.

That’s why you do it in reverse you look at every supplemental essay who’s basically quiring student to write what you are advocating even the UCPIQ’s all land itself to use as a student and I would suggest doing everything first and then going to the personal statement because it will flow
