OK, first of all The Knights Templar were not a secret occult group, they were devout Catholic warrior-monks who answered directly to the Pope. The Knights Templar never drew or saw a goat-headed monster, they just confessed to a vague name under torture. The famous image of the goat-headed creature we all know today was drawn 550 years later, in 1856, by a French occultist named Éliphas Lévi. And The word "Baphomet" first appeared in the trial transcripts. Most modern historians agree that "Baphomet" was simply a French linguistic corruption/mishearing of "Mahomet" (the Prophet Muhammad). The French king was essentially accusing the Templars of secretly converting to Islam or practicing a bizarre Heretical inversion of it to turn public opinion against them. There is zero historical evidence that the Templars actually worshipped a goat god. But I see what you mean.
