So many people in this comment section proving they don’t know rivers. The rivers aren’t polluted, they have a brown look because of all the sediment large, fast moving rivers kick up as well as what comes into the river that because of the fast moving current the dirt and sediment from the tributary isn’t able to settle either. The Mississippi river looks just like these and it has had the nickname the muddy Mississippi since the early 1800s so in other words well before industrialization.
