I enjoy going there. House on the Rock is like Alice in Wonderland after not sleeping for days, getting lost in the Mad Hatter’s attic, and then discovering the entire place is on steroids. Every time you think you’ve seen the weirdest thing, there’s another room full of even stranger stuff.

🙄as someone that lives in WI and went to house OTR over 20 times, its not at all what you're saying. its just unique. its like a museum. its not "dark nightmare fuel" I have so many fun memories here as a kid and my kids loved it too.

people being creeped out by House on the Rock will never not astound me because it’s personally my favorite place I’ve ever visited and the only reason I don’t go more often is because it’s too far away. it’s insane and magical and nonsensical and stunning.

It’s honestly so magical and very whimsical and very Tim Burton. I wouldn’t say it’s “scary” maybe it’s just not for you. I can tell with the amount of care and detail that’s inside the building someone really cared about every room and I respect that as someone who appreciates art.

Live in Wisco, love this place SO much. My kids love it! It’s like being in a magical music box labyrinth. It’s meticulously collected and beautiful. Nothing about it feels dark and heavy when you’re there, it’s truly whimsical with a museum like elegance. What art and imagination are capable of when the environment fully becomes them. If you haven’t been, pictures and videos do not provide the vibes or do it justice. It’s wonder all around you. 🖤
