Liberia 🇱🇷 was under the control of ACS ( American Colonization Society) that was created by James Monroe, James Madison and other white elites from 1822 untill 1847. That's when they got their independence and named their territory or present day country Liberia, which come from the word liberty (The Land Of The Free). Ethiopians actually defeated white colonizers for the first time as a African Black people and kicked them out the country. Haitians 🇭🇹 also defeated the French but it's after a long 145 years of colonization.
