@bymuseum: The Runaway (1958) By Norman Rockwell Published for The Saturday Evening Post Some paintings look simple until you realize they are asking a harder question. The Runaway looks like a funny diner scene. A little boy sits at the counter with a bundle tied to a stick, dressed neatly, sitting seriously, as if he has made a grown-up decision. He has run away from home. But nobody else treats it like an emergency. The police officer beside him is calm. He is not chasing him, scolding him, or humiliating him. He simply sits there and lets the boy feel important for a moment. The counterman understands too. The adults know this is probably not the beginning of a great adventure. It is the end of a bad afternoon. That is why this famous painting feels so kind. Rockwell does not laugh at the child. He shows an adult who understands that a child’s small drama can feel enormous from the inside. He thinks he is running away. Everyone else knows he is deciding whether to go home. 👉 Follow @bymuseum for vivid stories and hidden meanings in classical art.

I'm loving all of these. might I make a small suggestion to lessen the amount of frequent zooming in and zooming out? it's highly distracting when I'm trying to follow you through this vibe.
