@danielluriesf: Ocean Beach is one of the most dangerous beaches in California due to strong rip currents. The Ocean Rescue team from the National Parks Service is out on the beach keeping San Franciscans safe every day, and they have some important reminders… 🚨Only go knee deep into the water. Staying standing in shallow water prevents rip currents from taking you out to sea. 🚨Stay close to kids at all times, especially when they are near the water. 🚨Listen to the Ocean Rescue team and follow all beach guidelines. The Ocean Beach lifeguards put themselves in danger to protect swimmers and beachgoers, often performing rescue missions beyond the shoreline. These lifeguards I met today have undergone countless rescue operations to save surfers and swimmers in distress, and we’re so grateful for the work they do.
