I used codex to build an app, still use it but it was spinning on a problem and wasn’t solving it. Maybe the context got jacked up. As soon as I switched to Claude I solved the issue in 30 months

Have you tried Letta? The Letta Code desktop app (Mac and windows) is pretty amazing, and the memory system is like nothing else.

the main thing i notice between codex and claude as someone who has paid the $200 a month for both plans consistently the last several months 1. codex is good for quick answers you want in your code base. 2. It is very safety aware you can confidently know codex will fix any and all bugs issues problems while claude will solve it however make a few more mistakes in the process compared to codex. 3. THE USAGE. Night and day compared to claude i burn through claude for the week and need to take a day or two off from it and only use codex to make it last. Onto claude though 1. Less Safety features not that it will do something dangerous and expose you but it is more open to things codex denies entirely such as scraping, page probing, skip-tracing, utilizing tor ports & proxies, utilizing and showing sensitive info, api keys, peoples names, phone numbers, emails etc aswell as basic loop-holes which codex flat out denies. My personal workflow looks like this Claude ( initial massive build out in parallel ) -> Codex ( Code clean up, fixing bugs errors issues logical gaps or specific problems or issues I don’t want claude re-looking at the entire codebase and project to solve one issue ) -> Claude ( Secondsry expansion of functions features tasks which vary in complexity & tasks codex I know would deny or give me a shallow answer where as claude gives depth. -> Codex ( Another review and fixing system, pipeline flow, bugs issues, optimization.

the biggest issue is have with codex is persistence. I have my claude code for daily talking/planning, but codex is great at taking that plan and implementing it

codex app feels like Windows 11 to Apple being claude code... like its poorly built, horrible ui and clunky. it doesnt feel nice to use...

Forza H6 was crashing on boot up. I had codex build a diagnostics app that figured out the problem in 15 minutes when over an hour of online search and asking chatbots to search gave no results. I actually used it to produce a much better resume because it could look at resumes and cover letters I had produced over the past 5 years all at once. It helped me set up an Ubuntu server, transfer a web app over ssh, and setup a cloudflare tunnel so I could view it on a domain in a browser. Literally the coolest app I’ve ever had on my computer. If you took codex away from my id probably crawl in a hole and wouldn’t emerge for a month because I’d be so depressed because it just makes life on my computer 100x better

so one of the big differentiators for me is codex can generate images, it can review and recreate for accuracy, and it can output large batches at a time. which if you're putting out content for a website is hugely beneficial
