the funny thing is before The dance of dragons started it was literally the golden age of Targaryens and they were at the height of their power, just for most of them being dressed in rags and very plain looking outfits the dragon embroidery was beautiful tough. While in AKOTSK all characters are dressed so well and very much fitting for their character's.

detalhe interessante: a época da dança dos dragões era a era de ouro dos targaryen, eles eram A casa mais rica de westeros. depois da dança, eles ficaram meio enfraquecidos mas mesmo assim os figurinos do cavaleiros dos 7 reinos estavam bem melhores do que a casa do dragão

This is why happens when they don’t allocate proper resources (staff that understand how to use fabric) to the costume department , while AKOTSK had costume designers knowing the fabric, knowing the characters and how they should come across the the audience but also the people in the show.
