My take on vet visits is that nail trims should be the standard every single time, period. I’ve never understood why that is not done.

I keep a trimmer by my chair. cat comes to snuggle, nails get trimmed if they're poking me.

my cats use scratchers religiously and anytime they make biscuits and they are sharp, it's nail trim time.

This is why I regularly check my kitties nails to see when they need trimmed. He lets us do them at home 🙏

I had like 6 cats in total, since I was a child. Never had a problem like this, ever. Give them enough scratching things, that wears the nails down naturally 😚
