Yes, I’ve gotten this throughout my lifetime too. I think it’s called precordial catch.

I think it’s a pre cordial catch but I always call it a lung cramp haha. Supposedly it’s to supposed to happen to adults but we are evidence it does. Lying in a weird position can trigger it. Happens to me at least weekly, also poss EDS too.

yes, but this is related to overly long ribs and ehlers danlos for me! Slipping Rib syndrome and rib cage malformation are common.

Sounds like it could be costochondritis

could be a diaphragm issue. Practice diaphragm breathing daily. Deep belly breaths. If you had any kind of trauma in childhood your CNS may have locked it down. You have been chest breathing most of your life. I had this until I started breathing exercises.

Pleural lining irritation. Pleurisy is an inflammation of the lining of your chest wall that causes sharp chest pains. The pain is usually worse when you breathe in or cough. Viral or bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases and lung conditions are common causes.

Precordial Catch Syndrome. I was a kid when I first had one. I thought I was having a heart attack. It is like a catch in my chest and I can feel something “let go”. All my life! My son and I have Sticklers Syndrome. It’s a connective tissue disease.

i always attributed it to intercostal rib muscles cramping. it’s an abrupt, sharp, stabbing pain that makes me involuntarily yelp when i breathe

it sounds like costocondritis to me. that's inflammation in the muscle and tissue between your ribs, not actually in the lungs.
