You can say no to anything you have full autonomy. The medical staff will just inform you of risk and document. Hospitals aren’t jails. They don’t force you to do anything. And this goes for any type of medical care

the ACTUAL way birth is meant to be given is standing up or squatting, because it’s safer and reduces pain. everyone says laying down was for the doctors to have better access and much other excuses. THE 100% REAL reason was because back then, women DID give birth standing up, but there was a king, louis xiv, who had a fetish for women giving birth, that is the REAL reason, and there is no other explanation, watering it down, or justifying it.

L&D RN here. You most certainly can say no to any interventions. But please make those decisions AFTER having all of the information given to you. Don't make those decisions because someone on TikTok said to.

Actually as a OBGYN nurse I encourage all of this. So we do tell patients they just think they don’t have a say so.
