@ssapphirerobotics007: Stringman, an open-source project by Nathaniel Nifong, uses a cable-driven robot system with 4 wall-mounted motors and fishing line to pick up laundry, toys, and trash. #Robotics #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #HomeAutomation #OpenSource
Everyone in the comments is entirely missing the point. This isn’t about avoiding chores...it’s an incredible proof of concept.
He literally built a Cable-Driven Parallel Robot (CDPR) from scratch using Raspberry Pis,with a decentralized load-sharing motors and running a diffusion transformer model for localized grasping on consumer hardware is insane engineering. That's honestly really impressive.. Good work frr👍

How are you guys calling him lazy? He spent tens of hours making this, obviously it’s not about the actual chore

I used to work on cranes, this can go somewhere, an industrial system could go crazy fast

I love this. I'm disabled and occasionally bedridden, it would be incredible to have that thing bring me items. You could design an entire system around it and then just mount it to the ceiling of a room. The industrial possibilities are even higher of course.

Does this end up making me messier cus I just leave stuff around? If I built the thing is it an extension of myself? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE ALIVE?!?!?
