We made the choice to bring them into this world, so it’s our responsibility to love them, protect them, guide them, and give them the best life we’re capable of creating. I don’t want my son to grow up feeling indebted to me. I want him to grow up feeling safe, joyful, confident, and deeply loved. The only thing I hope he carries with him is kindness and the ability to make this world a little better than he found it.
