I have the opposite problem. My gifts are wrapped so beautifully people think there’s about to be a family heirloom inside, and then they open it and it’s like… surprise, it’s socks from aisle 12. Happy Birthday! 😁

Too bad I don’t have the photo to show you of the wrapping my son and I did for my son in law’s gift. We didn’t have enough of the same wrapper and we were too lazy to go out buy more. So we taped all the different scraps of wrapper together to cover the golf bag. It was so hideous, but we all had fun and a good laugh.🤣🤣🤣

I’m the person who does precise corners, ribbons, colour palette coordination, added embellishments like dried flowers etc. I’ll even hide tape to fix my “ribbon swirl” in place. I’ve been told more than once that my gift wrapping is stunning but impossible to open 😂😅😂 Seems I’m the opposite of your girlfriend’s style. 😁

When my kids were little I'd use 2 old blue Walmart bags taped with medical tape. I was a night nurse that live in the country. Now days my grown kids call it "mom's special wrapping paper". 🤣😂🤣
