it's ironic, because china is not officially branded as a capitalist country of course, but the way these students are so evidently trained to become hard and obedient workers who live for their work, because they were never able to develop any interests outside of it, is something that, if it existed to this degree in a capitalist country like the usa, would be heavily criticized
