this happened to me years ago. animal control took my dog from my fenced in yard. I went to go get him and they tried to make me pay a fee and get him fixed. when i said no they said I could keep him intact but would need to pay an even bigger fee. I pulled up the security camera showing their driver opening my gate and calling my dog. where they proceeded to put a leash on him and lead him out the gate and load into their truck. they very quickly gave me by dog back

This happened to me once. They NEVER posted her I was calling and searching every shelter. They finally posted her for adoption and I RAN. I had to bring all her medical documentation to prove it. They tried to charge me for everything they gave her even though she already had it done. I had to basically threaten them to get MY dog back. (She ended up there because a friend of a friend was dog sitting and let her loose, and I never ever trusted anyone again 🙄🫠) just keep fighting and keep all documentation

I don’t understand these shelter. The whole purpose is to reunify lost dogs with their owners and to find stray dogs a home so why would you deny the owner access to his dog? What are you benefiting because then you’re gonna say you have no room and you gonna try and kill animals to make room when this cage could be emptied because it’s owner is right there. Anyone in that county y’all need to get together and pick it in front of that place pick it it bring a winner. Everyone post this on social media and name the place. Name the location the state the name of the shelter cause this is ridiculous.

Growing up, my $1500 golden was a habitual offender and the third time he went to the pound they told my dad They weren’t gonna release him to us. Guess they didn’t look at addresses cause the guy that “adopted” him was our next-door neighbor. 😂

my 2 dogs got out and every day for a week I called the shelter to see if they found them. finally showed up just to be sure and they were there! the whole time!! they expected me to pay $270 in fees. I called the cops and got my dogs back.
