🚨 DEPUTY THROWS FIRST PUNCH... BIG MISTAKE 🚨 NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, N.C.-- Attorneys filed a $20 million lawsuit after a truck driver says he was assaulted by a deputy in the Northampton County courthouse. Video of part of that altercation has gone viral. The video was provided to WRAL by attorneys. In the security camera footage from inside the courthouse, Don Long II is visible walking through a doorway, wiping his eyes from pepper spray. A deputy follows hiim on the video and takes a swing. Long's attorneys say the deputy is Gregory Colson. The video shows several different angles of the altercation. After Colson appears to take the first swing, Long hits back. The two exchange brief blows, but once the fight goes around a corner, Long has the upper hand, striking Colson more than once. Long's attorneys say the fight started when he showed up for a court date, but Colson wouldn't let him in. In video from a camera inside the courthouse facing the door, Long's orange sweatshirt is visible through the small window. He tries to get in. The two talk, but Colson shuts the door with Long still outside. There is no audio, so it's not clear what was said between the two. A couple of minutes later in the video, Colson leaves the courtroom again and, while it's hard to see,  it appears that's where the scuffle happened. None of the video is time stamped, so it is not clear how long the two were off camera between the courtroom view and hallway video. After Long was handcuffed, he was taken to a holding cell where he's visibly in distress and continually tries to wash his eyes. #news #truecrime
